We did a short author study before Christmas on Jan Brett. Jan Brett is an AWESOME illustrator and author. Some of the books of hers that we read were, The Mitten, Armadillo Rodeo, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and The Hat. On the day we read The Hat, I thought it would fun if we had a hat day.
